An epic Autumn. . .
The fishing this fall has been absolutely awesome. We have been in early with our limit of yellow fins almost everyday. On many days we have caught our 18 fish within two or three hours of fishing. There have been some big eyes and wahoo and even the odd mahi-mahi mixed in but the one thing that can be counted on is the yellow fin tuna. They have averaged 30-50 lbs. and they travel in schools so multiple hookups has been the rule.

another nice tuna hits the box. . .
If you have never been to the outer banks this time of the year. Its great. The weather is wonderful, the fishing is great and the stores are starting to have end of the season sales. Thanksgiving weekend is a super time for the whole family. Not only the offshore fishing is good but the near-shore fishing is heating up too. There has been some good surf fishing action the past few days--speckled trout and the first of the fall stripers are biting. Speaking of the stripers. . . the really good fall fishing for them from the boats is just around the corner.
The High Return will be fishing for the stripers starting in December, depending on when they show up. We fish half as well as full day trips in December and January. Traditionally the holiday break is a great time to go out for the big ocean stripers. You should ask Santa for a Half day charter in your stocking this year!
