Get Whitey! ! !
That has been the war cry in Ocean City, MD this week. We are here fishing the White Marlin Open. The richest marlin tournament on the east coast. Right now the Hog Wild from the Oregon Inlet charter fleet is leading with a 71lb White Marlin. We hope it will be good enough for a second place finish. We are hoping to catch the winner tomorrow! Boats fish three out of five days in this tournament. We fished Monday offshore of the Norfolk Canyon. We raised one white that we failed to connect with but we did catch a nice Blue Marlin about 250lbs.

He put on a good show for us and our angler Cameron was lucky enough to get "creeked" by the crew as it was his first blue marlin.
Here's Cameron Swain, (Cap't Daves son, our second mate this week), Bert(Mate), Cameron and Cap't Dave just before he got creeked. And he is in midflight, just before the plunge. We fish really hard this week as the stakes are very high. But we also have a good time. There are over 400 boats in the tournament so you can imagine afterhours we enjoy having a cocktail and telling a few lies with old friends that we don't see as often as we like.
We are looking forward to getting back home becuse the White Marlin bite is heating up there. We have days open next week as well as a couple the following week. We are also available for the Alice Kelly Ladies Tournament on Sunday. Get a crew together and let's go catch some billfish.
