Thinking about warm weather. . .
We are still chipping away at the stripers. The biggest challenge this year has been finding the fish inside the three mile limit. The are lots of fish here but some days they are not inside the line drawn in the sand by the NMFS and the NCDMF. We'll be out after them again this weekend. . .
After all the weather and cold we've had the past few weeks its nice to close our eyes and think about warmer times, of big bull dolphin and blue marlins. My flip flops are getting a little bit dusty over there and I just checked my calendar and it still says that spring is just a couple of short months away. Before you know it we'll be eating soft shell crabs and swatting mosquitos again. Which brings us to our important topic for this installment--Tournaments!
We are booking our days up pretty good for the summer but if you want a Friday or Saturday you had better get on the stick. We are also starting to look for anglers for any of the several Marlin Tournaments up and down our coast this summer.
Of course the Big Three for us are the BigRock in Morehead City in June, the Ocean City White Marlin Open and the Pirates Cove Big Game Tournament in August. These are big tournaments, and The prizes are big too! If you are interested in any of these tournaments, Call Capt. Dave ASAP.
There are also several tournaments throughout the summer that have less boats and smaller entries and prizes but are still a heap of fun. The Action starts in Hatteras in May at the Hatteras Village Offshore Open and goes right through August. We'd love to have you join us for any of these tournaments. Call Capt. Dave with inquires.
Keep checking back this winter. The tuna fishing has been good, the weather has not allowed much fishing offshore but that should change by March and we are anticipating a good run of yellowfin this spring.
Stay Warm and Safe and call us today to reserve your day fishing this summer!
