The weather has been very strange for everyone, that includes us - a couple of days in the 60's and then back down to normal temps in the 40's. The Strippers have been doing a lot of running, trying to follow the cold waters. The fleet has had to run North up the beach towards the Virginia/North Carolina Line to catch them.
We had an all day trip today with Carl and his three sons. They had beautiful weather and enjoyed catching the nice Strippers we found. One son caught two at one time. We had to run 40 miles up the beach to find the bait, birds and strippers, always going the extra mile(s) to see a smile. The water has cooled down nicely to 49.5 degrees - just the way the fish want it!!!!
The fleet has not been able to get to the Gulf Stream for Tuna in a week - it is always hit or miss with the weather this time of year.
