Spring fishing and weather proving unpredictable. . .
We have managed to get out only a few days in the past two weeks. The weather has been tough but the fishing has been exiting. There were several good catches of tuna throughout the fleet this week. Friday was slower with boats catching 3-10 tunas to the boat. A few dolphin and wahoo were encountered, there was one bigeye tuna decked also. And the Country Girl released a blue marlin.
We will be out all this weekend and next week. The forecast calls for stable weather for the next week. We have heard good reports from down south of lots of gaffer dolphin. They could show up any day. The next month can be one of the most exiting times to fish the Gulf Stream off North Carolina. Dolphin, Tuna, Wahoo and billfish will begin flooding in with the warm water. Are you ready ? ! ?
