Jim Barcraft and his family had a great day out with a deautiful day off shore. We had some scattered bites throughout the day, the first strick was a 100lb Mako, at the end of the day we had a Blue Marlin on the teaser, but he would not take a bait - he just wanted the teaser..... There was a lot of life out there for us to see.

The water temperature was about 72.5 and blueish green in color - great conditions!

Come fishing this weekend on the High Return.

Finally a break in the weather. Wow, it blew hard here this week. The ocean has finally calmed down and the weather looks good for the next week. Two boats fished today and had great catches. Big gaffer Mahi-mahi , yellowfins and wahoo! We are booked tomorrow,(Friday) but we have a rare Saturday opening this weekend as well as being availible for charter Sunday. If you want to experience some great offshore action Call Capt. Dave or the booking desk at the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center.

We had John Martin and his wife out with us today. This was her first time experiencing offshore fishing - she is now hooked, just like the way most of us got hooked - the first time out. She did GREAT and best of all she loved it all.

It was a slow day fishing, but we managed to have some good action. It blew all night long and changed things from yesterday. It was very choppy with big waves back to back. It was hard out there today - everyone is going to sleep well tonight.

We had a wonderful day out fishing in the Gulf Stream with Mike Turley and his group of friends today. It was our first trip of the upcoming season - it went without a hitch. The boat ran great after having been on dry dock for her annuall maintenance.
We caught 13 gaffer Dolphin, a Wahoo and 5 Yellow-fin Tuna with several more strikes that did not connect. There was so much marine life out there this morning, Hammerhead Sharks, Sunfish, Mako Sharks, Birds and 3 different species of Porpoises.
What a GREAT day to be on the WATER..... Our government can't give you a stimulus package as good as you can get on the High Return in the Gulf Stream. COME GET SOME!!!

There is not much to report for the weekend fishing - the weather was too rough for anyone to go out, with wind gusts up to 70 miles an hour.

The High Return went back in the water on Thursday after her routine maintenance and we were one of several other crews that were working on their boats getting them ready for the season.

We have our first trip of the season this weekend!!! We are ready to get out there catching the Blue-fin and Yellow-fin Tuna that are there. We have some open days this Spring - so come and get some........

It was a good weekend fishing with anything from 6 - 18 Yellow Fin tuna caught all within the 40-60lb class - that's boat limits!!! The Blue Fin Tuna are still around, mostly catch and release - one 130lbs Blue Fin was brought to the dock. There were also scattered Wahoo & Mahi-Mahi caught over the weekend. Several Mako Sharks were caught - that is always exciting fishing!!!!!

The High Return is due back in the water on Thursday after her annual "Spring" haul-out and routine maintenance - we are ready to go fishing this weekend.........
