Well - The weather has made it so that we could not get out for the second weekend. We tried to get to the fishing grounds last Friday, but got about 9 miles out, down to 10 knots and then turned around. There were a couple of boats that got to the fishing grounds that day, reporting that the fishing was slow (although they caught some Tuna and Wahoo) and the wind and wave height made for a very very nasty trip. The fleet remained at the dock the rest of the weekend because of the weather. The fleet has not been able to get out this week because of the sea and getting across the bar.

On Sunday, the house that was in the newest movie "Nights in Rodanthe" ended up in the ocean. This was a big storm that came through. A sail boat ended up 'run a ground' just West of the Oregon Inlet bridge with the 3 crew members having to be rescued by the Coast Guard.

We may try and get out on Friday if the front that is on its way holds off a little. The forecast for the weekend is not looking good at all. The weather is just not giving us a break!!!

Another day like yesterday with a great group of people down to have a good time. We got a late start this morning so missed some of the early bites but the water is pushing back in and the conditions are shaping up to be some great fishing. The fleet had a mixture of fish, with some nice Dolphin, Tuna and Wahoo.

We had a great day with our group today. The combination of water moving out, green water and the full moon made it some slow fishing for a few of the fleet. We could see the fish but they were about 20 falhams. The Tuna are here, just feeding in the light of the full moon and deep down in the green water.

Would you like some Tuna in the freezer for Thanksgiving? Book you trip with Capt. Dave today.

We tried to make it out today, but the wind would not give us a break!! Gusting 25 - 30. Most of the fleet including us, tried to get to the fishing grounds - a few of the boats got about 5 miles off the coast going 9 knots (very slow). It was just too much, we and the rest of the fleet turned around and came back in.

The Tuna are biting - book your day - October dates are booking up.....

Thanks Bert....

Bob Elder's group from Ocean City, which included a couple captains and a couple mate - so plenty of experienced anglers on two boats. Both boats did excellently with Yellow-fin Tuna again today. We fished in anywhere from 71.5 - 74.3 clear green water about 15 miles North of the point. A lot of bits that we missed - the action was great!!!!!

We ran in the dark for the better part of an hour and about 15 miles out of Oregon Inlet we had the most beautiful Phosphorous light show in the waves and the prop wash, that I have every seen. Everyday is different - COME GET SOME....

We had a great day out there today and so did the whole fleet. We limited out with Yellow-Fin Tuna and was back at the dock earlier than usual. The group enjoyed each other having a lot of fun catching Tuna to put into the freezer. It is always a great day when we come home early after getting our limit.

The October days are booking up, but there are a few open days left. Give me a call to book your day. Tuna fishing is good well into December, so come and get some!!!!

The conditions are perfect and the Tuna are BITING!! We did not have a trip yesterday or today, but the fleet had a wonderful time fishing; boats came in early after limiting out. There are several species of fish that are hungry; Yellow-fin, Black-fin, Blue-fin, Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo and even a couple of Billfish bites. The weather looks like it is going to keep the conditions great and even better with the slight change in wind direction coming in the next couple of days.

If you are looking to get your freezer stocked for the winter - we have a couple of days open this week. Give Capt. Dave a call with your booking......

There was a lot going on out there with all the Pilot Whales, Dolphin, Sharks, Turtles, and even a Coot that has decided to rest up on a large bed of grass. The ocean and conditions were perfect, so calm with a slight breeze to keep the sunshine from getting too hot. We caught three different species of Tuna; Yellow Fin, Black Fin and Blue Fin. The picture of the little Tuna trying to catch the green squid almost the same size as himself, is the Blue Fin. We put him back so that he can get to grow up to be a full grown Blue Fin possibly growing to be 1200lbs one day. It was a great day out there!!!!

We don't have any pictures for today. We did go today and had a wonderful day out there. We were filming a short film for a NC tourism magazine & website. The skies were clear, the water was blue with a definite change, the sea life knew that the cameras were on them today. There were plenty of Pilot Whales, Dolphin's showing of, a Sunfish & birds, one of which rested on the boat deck to catch her breath before carrying on her way. We as the rest of the fleet had a slow day, although a little better than yesterday. The weather and satellite shots of the Gulf Stream are coming together for better and better fishing.

The Tuna made us work for it today..... There were several fish caught but a couple here and a couple there throughout the day. Things started to pick up at the end of the day - they decided they were getting hungry. The Gulf Stream is still on the move, it moved out yesterday but the wind changed direction again bringing it in where we like to see it, across the 100 fathom curve and good fishing grounds. There were a lot of Pilot Whales, Dolphins, a Turtle & bait fish seen swimming in the waves. We had a great day, the wind calmed down our guests enjoyed a beautiful day out seeing a lot of mammal life. The conditions are shaping up for a great day tomorrow of fishing.

Well, we finally made it out today. The weather gave us a break!! The water was greener and murkier than the last couple days, the Tuna are here!!! We saw a lot of fish on the screen but they were deep and hard to get to bite. We ended up with 9 Tunas for the day. The group had a great time, just look at their smiling faces.
