Wednesday. Slimmer pickings today as we boated lots of throwbacks. We finished the day with 5 BLTs (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomatoe TUNAs) and one 70 LB. REady to go again tomorrow!!!

Mickie, if you read this, congratulations for an awesome day of tuna fishing. Best fishing yet as the boat landed 18 tuna by 12:30 and made the dock by 2:30PM. Our fish and our water is finally showing up.

GREAT TUNA FISHING!

5-21-06 Missed a day, as we got hung by a Monkfish net on Sunday. Long trip in on one motor, and cold dive for Bert, as he cut the net from the wheel in port. The life of an offshore fishing Mate!

Mid morning update! 600 Lb. Blue Marlin release!!!!
Our second Blue one of the season showed up in style as he crashed the right flat, not twenty feet from the boat. A gorgeous fish! We released him to fight another day. Great way to get the blood flowing. Fishing is a little off so far this morning, but the fish surely made up for it.

Dolphin! Dolphin! Dolphin!
Gaffers from really nice solid grass lines as the water pushed in to offer us some really great Dolphin fishing with a ice box full of nice Gaffers. The whole fleet got into some really nice fishing. Nice to see May finally really provide! Had a Blue Marlin come in and knock the pins out of the baits twice, but he drifted away, not to be scene again. Mahi Mahi on the grill tonight!

Water is getting better. Shared a group with Capt. Tom of the Hooker. Started on the Kings early. Put three in the boat. moved on to the Dolphin. Fleet found sone great water, 74 degrees about 4 miles past the 100 fathom line. 6 nice gaffers for the fishbox. Had a couple of nice bites on planers for tuna. missed one. Nailed another but had a 200 lb. Mako crash our short flat and move to the planer and bit the flashing planer. Cut the line and bent the planer, great loss of a nice tuna, but the Mako bite was really awesome.

Fishing is picking up fast!

Blending water worked against us this weekend. Pickings were slow. One nice 60 lb. tuna on Sunday, and three gaffers on Saturday. Poor showing on the fish es part. Whole fleet had little to show on the dock.

Best day yet of season. 7 whopping big tuna avg. 60 lbs. A dozen or so dolphin in the gaffer size. Beautiful ocean and wonderful group of guys. Thanks to them for a High Return fishing team shirt. We wowed them at the dock. Hope the weekend continues the same. Don't forget to send your mom flowers!

Great day for serious seafarers. Slick calm on the way down the beach this morning, then the wind came about from the south, giving us solid waves with no backs. Anglers on the other hand were able to scrap our about 180 lbs. of Yellowfin. Two fish were in the 70 lb. class with another in the 40 range. Sushi again tonight. Weather should be a factor again tomorrow, but the weekend is looking good. Hope someone brings their mom Tuna fishing Sunday!

Had nice conditions. 75 Degree water, nice current and a light 10 to 15 knot breeze. Fishing is picking up fast. Cold front moved through hard last night. Wind blowing down at the tower at 20 to 25 knots. Whole fleet laid too waiting for wind to die down. Check with us tomorrow, as for me, I am going to take a nap.

Another day of scatter bites. Few tuna for the fleet as the water shoved off south east. We picked up a nice bite of gaffer dolphin, boated about a dozen. One boat found and old net which was really nicely covered with dolphin, but they were too far for us to steam to. Water is warming up nicely. We should see our great tuna fishing explode this week. Come fishing with us, the days are booking up fast!

FINALLY! The weather has finally given us the opportunity to get to the Gulf Stream! We started fishing at the 190 line, way down south near Cape Hatteras. The blue water shoved into the 100 fathom nicely. We had a 15 degree temperature break, a nice weed line, great conditions! Days catch include 5 nice, fat 30 lb. Yellowfins, 10 snake King Mackerel that ate us up as we fished up the line, 2 nice gaffer Dolphin, and lastly a 75 lb. Mako Shark to round out a nice catch. We had a lot of bites from smaller class tuna which we released to grow bigger. Conditions are improving, come book a trip with us on the High Return. Dates are getting scarce!
